Jennifer was bitten by the acting bug at an early
age, staging elaborate shows for the family
camera at the age of five. After a childhood of
dragging her parents to ballet recitals, chorus
concerts, and school plays, she received her BA
in Theatre from Penn State University and her
MFA from the University of South Carolina where
she taught undergraduate acting and was bitten
by the teaching bug.
JENNIFER FINE
Between undergrad and graduate school, Jennifer lived in New York City
where she performed in musicals and plays off and off-off Broadway.
There, she became a senior member of the York Shakespeare Company
and taught with Looking for Shakespeare a non-profit after school
program that brings The Bard to inner city schools. She also performed
regionally, toured internationally, and taught in summer theatre camps all
over the United States. Jennifer moved to Los Angeles in 2007 and
considers herself very, very fortunate to have been invited to join The
Playground Staff.
In hopes of refining her own craft along with her ability to educate actors,
Jennifer completed a three-year AmSAT certification in The Alexander
Technique in 2011. She currently maintains a private Alexander
Technique practice in North Hollywood, as well as assists in the theatre
department at USC and at the Joanne Baron Studio (a two-year Meisner
conservatory program) in Santa Monica.
Jennifer was born and raised in Flemington, New Jersey. She is still in
touch with her childhood drama teacher.
